Become a Media Works Provider
Emerging provider AET assistance programme
This document sets out the guidelines where Media Works has a view to assist emerging providers in entering the AET market. Media Works aims to achieve this by providing quality material, training on the use of materials and implementation of learning programmes as well as providing support.
Role of Media Works
Media Works in this context is responsible to:
- Provide quality material to the emerging provider. The following is included.
- Accelerate (ABET programme)
- Literacy in English Level 1 – Level 4 and Mathematical Literacy in English Level 1 – Level 4.
- Literacy in Mother tongue Level 1 and Mathematical Literacy in Mother tongue level 1.
- Oral Bridging course.
- Work Readiness.
- Benchmark assessment agency.
- Train the emerging provider on marketing as well as on overview of managing the learning programmes. (Sales and Implementation training workshop). The following documentation will be provided.
- Sales marketing packs.
- Demonstration book and CD.
- Implementation process flow.
- Train the emerging provider on how to use and implement the material(Facilitator training). The following documentation will be provided.
- Placement assessment master pack
- Facilitator guides per level per leaning area
- Facilitator training manual.
- Provide a help centre in order to assist the emerging provider with general queries regarding sales and implementation related issues. Telephonic and e-mail only.
- Consultation if and when required by the emerging provider at a specified fee.
- Assist the emerging provider with initial documentation for provisional accreditation with Umalusi.
The Role of the Emerging Provider
The role of the emerging provider is the following:
- To identify and penetrate markets where Media Works is currently not active.ie. Local and provincial government, parastatals, donor funded rural projects.
- To canvass prospective clients, excluding existing Media Works clients.
- To secure clients and learners to be trained.
- A minimum of 50 courses to be sold in the first 6-month period.
- To sell a minimum of 200 courses per annum to ensure sustainability.
- To deliver quality learning programmes to prospective clients and learners.
- Not to engage in similar ventures with companies which are competitors to Media Works.
Criteria for qualification:
- Must be an established company, registered on CIPRO
- Must make application to UMALUSI for accreditation
- Must have e-mail facilities
- Must agree to undergo credit reference checks
- Must provide trade references
- Must have BEE credentials
