Jackie Carroll awarded 2009 Top Woman Entrepreneur
As one of the founders of Media Works', Managing Director Jackie Carroll has been recognised as the 2009 Top Woman Entrepreneur at the annual Top Women Awards held at the Wanderers Cricket Club on 18 November.
Hosted by Topco, the Top Women Awards recognise and celebrate the companies and individuals who contribute every day of the year to the empowerment of women in business and the public sector. The company and individual nominees are nominated based on stringent Topco criteria, specific to each category.
Criteria
The Top Woman Entrepreneur award goes to the person who can demonstrate her commitment to gender empowerment both within and outside the company that she started.

The company must employ more than 5 people and have a turnover that is greater than R5 million per annum.

The company must show significat year-on-year growth (compared to sector average), underpinned by strong financial performance.

The company has been in operation for at least two years.
As many of you know Jackie has dedicated her life to building a company that offers excellent educational materials and prides itself on its ability to change people's lives, one learner at a time. Her passion for adult education manifests itself in her unrelenting drive and energy, traits that have become the culture at Media Works. Under her leadership Media Works has become a key player in the adult educational sector. We look forward to bigger and better achievements and developments.
