Accelerate Installation
One of the key features of Accelerate is the ease of installation. Anyone with non-technical skills will be able to do a network installation. It is also an auto-run installation, meaning that if you insert the software CD in the CD-ROM drive the setup will start automatically. Setup will then take you through a few steps which are easy to follow. If setup did not start automatically, it can be launched by double clicking on the setup file on the installation disk. All the necessary details needed to complete the installation are supplied with the software CD.
Accelerate also uses UNC method instead of the conventional drive mapping. This also makes it very easy to do a network installation. Drive mapping means that each workstation must have a physical drive on the local computer (called the mapped drive) that will point to the server computer. This is always a problem as in most cases that drive gets disconnected and then access to the server is lost. Re-mapping the drive is the only way to fix the problem. When using a UNC path, each workstation contains a link is not lost. As soon as the server is restored, the link to the workstation will be restored.
