Pietermaritzburg-born Ncamsile Precious Msizwana left high school before completing her matric, however, she never abandoned her goal to further her studies.
She started her career as a machinist at Ninian & Lester Pty Ltd, and in 2016 made the decision to start the Adult Education and Training (AET) offered by the company, through Media Works, with the aim of improving her skills.
She has, to date, completed the AET in English Communication for levels 1 to 3 and has moved to Mathematics Level 3 and English Level 4. Since starting her studies, Ncamsile says she has seen improvements to her confidence, professional advancement, and family life. Ncamsile is now training towards becoming a supervisor at Ninian & Lester Pty Ltd.
“Continuous learning leads to a better life. Once you learn something, it offers you the opportunity to share it with others…I can now help my children with homework,” says Ncamsile.
She adds that her Media Works facilitator, Thobile Nkabinde, was very helpful and responsive when she needed help. Tholile helped her greatly with her studies; keeping Ncamsile motivated and inspired.
On her future aspirations, Ncamsile explains that she aims to “be a good supervisor, and continue with my studies until I am a manager with my own office.”
We are proud to be a part of Ncamsile’s efforts to further her studies. We wish her all the best on her journey to lifelong learning.
