Work Readiness equips the employee with the basic business knowledge, cultural awareness and confidence necessary to enter the world of work in the 21st century. Contact us to make Work Readiness in your organisation a reality
WHO IS IT FOR?
Work Readiness is for the well-meaning organisation that invests in workplace training and education, yet still finds that their workers are not operating as a cohesive team. The root cause behind this lack of workplace integration, we’ve found, is the vast difference in cultures, upbringings, belief systems and lifestyles of our diverse population.
Workforce integration can only be achieved when skills are coupled with an understanding of business ethics, legal requirements and workplace soft skills. Work Readiness is a workplace integration solution that consists of a set of dynamic workshops designed for working adults.
WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Work Readiness equips the employee with the basic business world knowledge, cultural awareness and the level of confidence necessary to enter the world of work in the 21st century and to operate as part of a greater, well-integrated workforce.
The course material is presented during a series of workshops, focusing on a number of key areas in the following categories: Personal skills, Business skills and Specialised skills.
HOW IS IT TAUGHT?
Based on NQF Level 1 Unit Standards, the Work Readiness material is accessible to all employees, whether literate or not. All course material is in English, but our skilled facilitators are able to present in any official language. Supporting visuals and teaching aids ensure that the employee who completes the course returns to their place of work competent and confident.

Is your organisation playing its part?
Using our passion and expertise in Adult Education & Training (AET), we’ve developed life-changing AET courses for adults with sight and hearing disabilities. Contact us to leverage PWD Materials in creating opportunities for all.
WHO IS IT FOR?
With over 20 years of expertise in Adult Education & Training, Media Works has proudly developed AET programmes for people with disabilities. PWD Materials make AET accessible for those with hearing and sight disabilities.
Organisations who employ such persons can now include them in their AET initiatives, using this life-changing material.
WHAT DOES IT AFFECT?
Currently, there are over 2 million South Africans with sight and hearing disabilities. These disabilities limit access to training and education, which in turn impacts prospective employability – ultimately resulting in increased difficulty and diminished prosperity in already confined social and economical environments.
Our PWD Materials and PWD Programmes have been carefully designed to cater to disabled individuals, who have specific needs that need to be met in order for learning to take place. Organisations who employ or wish to employ people with these disabilities can use these products to effectively provide AET, which – particularly under these circumstances – goes a long way in changing lives for the better.
WHAT IS PWD MATERIAL?
PWD Material is Adult Education & Learning (AET) material specifically designed for adult learners with sight and hearing disabilities. Our material for the deaf is endorsed by the Deaf Federation of South Africa (DeafSA), and our material for the blind complies with the Unified English Braille Code (UEBC) standard. Our PWD Braille course Material for the blind was the first of its kind – globally.
The PWD Material enables blind and deaf adults to progress to NQF Level 1 – the basis for further education and employment in South Africa.
